FAQs

Getting Started

  • How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. Contact me through the website and tell me a little about your website, what you need help with, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Whether you need a brand-new WordPress website, help fixing an existing site, ongoing support, or a specific update, I can review what you need and recommend the best next step.
  • Do you offer consultations?
Yes. Consultations are available for website planning, troubleshooting, redesigns, WordPress issues, and other website-related questions. A consultation can be especially helpful if you’re not sure whether you need a complete rebuild, a few targeted improvements, or simply someone to diagnose what’s going wrong.
  • How long does a website project take?
Every project is a little different, but the process generally starts with understanding your website and goals. I’ll review the existing site or project requirements, identify what needs to be done, and provide recommendations and a scope of work. Once the project is approved, I’ll complete the work, communicate with you throughout the process, test the changes, and make sure everything is working properly before wrapping up.
  • What happens after I contact you?
After you contact me, I’ll review the information you’ve provided and get back to you to discuss your project. If I need additional details, I’ll ask a few questions so I can better understand the website, the issues you’re experiencing, or your goals. From there, I’ll let you know what I recommend and, when appropriate, provide a proposal or estimate before work begins.
  • How does your process work?
I custom-code each website with clean, efficient practices, delivering fully responsive, user-friendly sites. Built with HTML5-validated code and SEO optimization, every project is easy to maintain and performs smoothly across all devices and browsers, ensuring a seamless experience for every visitor.  I specialize in WordPress but also have many years working with other platforms such as Shopify, SquareSpace, Duda and many others.
  • What if I don’t know exactly what I need?
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to know whether you need a redesign, a new website, a plugin fix, or something else before you contact me. If you’re not sure what’s wrong or what the best solution is, tell me what you’re experiencing and what you’re trying to accomplish. I can review the situation, help identify what needs to be addressed, and recommend the most practical approach. My goal is to solve the problem you actually have—not sell you something you don’t need.
FAQs

Website Development

  • Do you work on websites you didn’t build?
Yes. Existing websites are a major part of my work. I regularly work on WordPress websites originally built by other developers, agencies, or website owners themselves. I can troubleshoot problems, make updates, add functionality, improve the design, or take over ongoing development without requiring you to rebuild the site.
  • Do you build custom WordPress websites?
Yes. I build WordPress websites tailored to the needs of the business or organization rather than relying solely on a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on the project, this can include custom layouts, functionality, integrations, templates, forms, eCommerce features, and other elements designed around your specific goals.
  • Do you build responsive/mobile-friendly websites?
Yes. Websites should work well across desktop computers, tablets, and phones. I build and update websites with responsive layouts in mind, including navigation, typography, images, forms, spacing, and other elements that can behave differently on smaller screens. I also test layouts at different screen sizes to catch mobile-specific problems.
  • Do I need a new website or can my existing site be improved?
Not necessarily. In many cases, an existing website can be improved without starting over. I’ll look at the site’s current structure, design, functionality, performance, and technical issues before recommending a rebuild. If the existing site can be updated effectively, I’ll tell you. If the foundation is creating ongoing problems and a rebuild makes more sense, I’ll explain why.
  • Can you work with Elementor, Divi & other builders?
Yes. I work with popular WordPress page builders including Elementor and Divi, as well as other WordPress builders. Whether you need a new page built, an existing layout modified, a design issue fixed, or a builder-related problem troubleshot, I can work within the existing system rather than forcing you to change platforms.
  • Can you take over a website from another developer?
Absolutely. You don’t have to start over just because your previous developer is no longer available or the working relationship has ended. I can step into an existing WordPress website, review how it’s built, and get familiar with the current setup before making changes. This may include reviewing the theme, plugins, page builder, custom code, hosting, and other components that affect how the site works. Whether you need someone to make a few updates, troubleshoot ongoing problems, finish an incomplete project, or become your new go-to developer, I can take over where the previous developer left off. I’ll work with ...

WordPress & Troubleshooting

  • Can you fix my WordPress website?
Yes. Troubleshooting and fixing existing WordPress websites is a significant part of my work. I can investigate issues such as broken layouts, errors, plugin problems, missing content, functionality that stopped working, display problems, and other WordPress issues. I’ll work to identify the underlying cause rather than simply treating the visible symptom.
  • Can you help with WordPress errors?
Yes. I can troubleshoot a variety of WordPress errors, including PHP errors, database-related problems, plugin and theme errors, broken layouts, white screens, failed updates, and other unexpected behavior. The first step is determining what’s actually causing the error so the appropriate fix can be applied.
  • Can you fix a website that broke after a WordPress or plugin update?
Yes. Updates are important for keeping a website secure and up to date, but they can sometimes cause unexpected problems when WordPress, a plugin, theme, or page builder is no longer compatible with another part of the site. If your website suddenly stopped working, looks different, or a feature broke after an update, I can troubleshoot the problem and identify what caused it. I’ll look at the changes that were made, check for compatibility or plugin conflicts, and determine the best way to restore the website without unnecessarily changing other parts of the site. In some cases, the solution may ...
  • Can you troubleshoot plugin conflicts?
Yes. Plugin conflicts can cause anything from a small visual problem to a completely broken website. I can troubleshoot conflicts between plugins, themes, page builders, WordPress, and custom code to determine what is causing the problem and find the safest solution.
  • Can you take over a website from another developer?
Yes. You don’t have to start over just because your previous developer is no longer available. I can review the existing website, hosting environment, WordPress installation, plugins, theme, and other relevant components to understand how the site is set up. From there, I can take over updates, troubleshooting, development, or ongoing maintenance.
FAQs

eCommerce & WooCommerce

  • Do you work with WooCommerce?
Yes. I work with WooCommerce websites and can help with both new builds and existing stores. This can include product setup, store layouts, functionality, forms, integrations, payment and checkout issues, shipping-related functionality, and troubleshooting.
  • Can you help with an existing online store?
Yes. You don’t need to be starting a new store to get help. I can work with an existing WooCommerce or Shopify store to make updates, troubleshoot problems, improve the customer experience, add functionality, or address specific issues that are preventing the store from working the way you need it to.
  • Can you help with WooCommerce customization?
Yes. I can customize existing WooCommerce stores to better fit the way your business operates and the experience you want to provide your customers. This can include customizing product pages, shop and category layouts, cart and checkout pages, product options, pricing displays, forms, shipping functionality, and other store features. I can also work with WooCommerce plugins and custom code when a standard setting or plugin doesn’t quite provide what you need. Whether you need a small adjustment or a more involved customization, I’ll look at your existing setup and recommend the most practical way to accomplish it without unnecessarily complicating ...
  • Do you work with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms?
Yes. I also work with Shopify and other eCommerce platforms, including existing stores that need updates, troubleshooting, customization, product-related changes, integrations, or improvements. If you already have a Shopify store, I can work within the existing setup rather than requiring you to start over.
  • Can you troubleshoot checkout/payment issues?
Yes. Checkout and payment problems can be especially frustrating because they can prevent customers from completing purchases. I can investigate issues involving the checkout process, payment gateways, plugins or apps, shipping settings, forms, and related integrations to help identify where the problem is occurring.
FAQs

Maintenance & Support

  • Do you provide ongoing maintenance?
Yes. Ongoing website maintenance is available for businesses that need someone to keep their website updated and functioning properly. Depending on your needs, maintenance can include WordPress and plugin updates, troubleshooting, content changes, security-related tasks, backups, and general website support.
  • Can you help after my website launches?
Absolutely. Launching a website isn’t necessarily the end of the process. Websites often need adjustments once real users begin interacting with them. I can provide post-launch support for fixes, updates, content changes, troubleshooting, and improvements as your needs evolve.
  • Can you make occasional website updates?
Yes. You don’t have to sign up for ongoing maintenance to get help. If you occasionally need a page updated, an image replaced, content changed, a new section added, or another small website task completed, I can help with individual projects as well.
  • Can you take care of WordPress/plugin updates?
Yes. I can handle WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates and check the website afterward to make sure the updates haven’t introduced problems. For more complex websites, updates should be approached carefully because plugins and themes can have compatibility issues. I’ll take the site’s existing setup into consideration rather than blindly updating everything.
FAQs

Agencies & White-Label

  • Do you work with agencies?
Yes. I work with agencies that need an experienced WordPress developer to help with client projects, overflow work, troubleshooting, maintenance, or specialized development. I can fit into your existing workflow and work according to your processes and requirements.
  • Can you work behind the scenes with my agency?
Yes. If your agency needs additional development resources, I can work behind the scenes as an extension of your team. You can handle the client relationship while I focus on the WordPress development, troubleshooting, updates, or other technical work you need completed.
  • Do you provide white-label development?
Yes. I provide white-label development for agencies and other businesses that need development support without presenting an outside developer directly to their client. I can work behind your brand and follow your communication, workflow, and project requirements.
  • Can you develop a website from a designer’s mockup?
Yes. I can take a completed design or mockup and turn it into a functional WordPress website. This can include working from Figma designs, Photoshop files, PDFs, screenshots, or other design specifications. I can also collaborate with your designer when clarification is needed to make sure the final website stays as close to the approved design as practical.
FAQs

Pricing & Projects

  • How much does a website cost?
Website pricing depends on the scope of the project rather than simply the number of pages. Factors such as design, functionality, integrations, eCommerce, forms, custom development, content, and third-party services can all affect the cost. After reviewing your requirements, I’ll provide pricing based on what your project actually needs.
  • Do you provide a proposal or estimate before work begins?
Yes. For projects that require a defined scope, I’ll provide a proposal outlining what is included, the expected timeline, and the cost before development begins. This gives you an opportunity to review the scope and ask questions before making a commitment.
  • Do you work with smaller projects?
Yes. Not every website project requires a complete redesign or a large development budget. I work on smaller projects as well, including individual page updates, fixes, troubleshooting, content changes, design adjustments, plugin issues, and other targeted website tasks. If you have a specific problem that needs to be solved, feel free to reach out and tell me what you need.
  • Do you charge hourly or by project?
I can work either hourly or by project, depending on the type of work. Clearly defined projects are often quoted as a project fee, while troubleshooting, ongoing support, and smaller or open-ended tasks may be handled hourly. I’ll let you know which approach makes the most sense for your particular project before work begins.
  • What is included in a website project?
What’s included depends on the project, but a typical website project can include WordPress setup or configuration, page development, responsive layouts, forms, navigation, integrations, basic functionality, testing, and launch support. The specific deliverables will be outlined in your proposal so you know exactly what you’re getting.
  • Can you work within my budget?
Yes. If you have a specific budget in mind, let me know when you reach out. I can help determine what can realistically be accomplished within that budget and prioritize the work based on what will have the greatest impact. If the full project you have in mind isn’t feasible within your current budget, we can look at breaking the work into phases or focusing on the most important items first. My goal is to find a practical solution that fits your needs without recommending work you don’t actually need.
